The country’s President, Zelensky, declared that the Ukrainian forces have seized more territory from Russia because they continued the counter-offensive. He added that the troops have taken more than 6000 sq km from Russia in September so far.
On the other hand, Russia also admitted that it lost the key cities of Ukraine, like the north-eastern Kharkiv region, which is seen by some military experts as a potential breakthrough in the war.
Moscow also describes its troops withdrawing from the region in the past few days as they regroup intending to focus on the Ukraine east region like Donetsk and Luhansk. On Sunday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the Ukrainian force had made significant progress in the counter-offensive and it was too early to predict the outcome now. The Russians maintain very significant forces in Ukraine and have the equipment, arms, and munitions as well. They continue to use that indiscriminately against the Ukrainian force and civilian infrastructure.
The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has ordered a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by 24th. Russia still holds a fifth of the country now.
Zelensky thanked the numerous Ukrainian brigades who were involved in the counter-offensive and described them as trust heroes as the fighters. But he did not reveal the exact names of the Ukrainian cities and villages that had been liberated.
